Introduction to the practice
Established in 1910, Mauchlen Weightman and Elphick (MWE) has been a practice of Chartered Architects working in Newcastle upon Tyne for over 100 years. What do we do? The practice has a design and procurement service for any form of construction. Whilst our core function is Architectural design, our expertise covers a wide diverse of construction related services. Construction Services: The variety of services that are available to offer includes feasibility studies, development appraisals, town planning, masterplanning, project management, Architectural design, interior design, artists impressions, 3D visualisation & modelling, planning supervision, health and safety, litigation consultancy, construction contract administration, construction cost control, historic building renovation and redevelopment, building and land surveys & building defects surveys. Projects: Presently the core of the practice’s work revolves around housing design, layout, and spatial planning for commercial property development working for both local and national companies, throughout the north of England. Parallel to this the practice has also worked projects of various commercial new build and refurbishment projects for nationally based organisations throughout the United Kingdom. In addition to the above recent commissions also include bespoke luxury houses, apartments, private houses, works to Historic buildings & domestic extensions and alterations. Project Process: The practice has adopted a policy of a high level of quality control from standard of design downwards. A partner is assigned to each project and remains fully involved and responsible throughout the duration of any commission.
